Our highly skilled GPs at Adamstown Medical Centre provide pre-pregnancy counselling.
They recognise the importance of detecting any clinical conditions that may be of relevance to the future pregnancy but are best managed prior to pregnancy.
Our GPs will screen for and detect any relevant conditions and optimise treatment with respect to an impending pregnancy. They perform antenatal screens to identify any conditions which require treatment, such as iron or vitamin deficiencies and determine if booster vaccinations are due.
Our GPs take a detailed family and past history and advise on any genetic counselling that may be required pre-pregnancy.
They provide advice on pre-pregnancy folic acid, minimising alcohol intake pre-pregnancy and provide advice such as timing of intercourse.
